Defend Our Economy

Colorado's economy is in the cross-hairs of anti-business activists. Twelve different ballot initiatives have been filed by these activists. Each of them would severely damage Colorado's business environment. Small businesses would be hit first and hardest. Defend Our Economy (DOE) has been organized to defeat these initiatives. DOE will work to create a unified voice in opposition to these initiatives and preserve a business friendly environment for Colorado's future.

If passed, these proposals will be detrimental to a healthy economy and threaten Colorado's business climate and future growth. Defend Our Economy will work diligently for the Colorado business community and our economy by providing a vehicle dedicated to uniting the strength of all Colorado businesses in an effort to defeat all of these ill-conceived proposals.

Any of these proposals would dramatically increase economic uncertainty and negatively impact business investment and growth in Colorado. If even one of these proposals is approved, it could put Colorado into an economic tailspin that will last for many years.

DOE's efforts will include working to keep as many as possible from even making it to the ballot. Please support this effort by joining the DOE Coalition.

"The union-advocated initiatives, if placed on the November ballot and approved by the voters, would send the worst possible message to corporate leaders--here and across the U.S. as well as abroad--that Colorado has become anti-business, and state and local economic development efforts to recruit, create and retain quality jobs would be critically harmed."

Chuck Berry, CACI President and former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives.

"These various ballot initiatives proposed by the unions are clearly anti-business. The passage of any one of these proposals at the November general election would harm Colorado's ability to not only attract business to this state but keep the ones we have. These initiatives would restrict our ability as a state to maintain the dedicated workforce we currently have and significantly harm our ability to attract individuals to come and work in this state in future."

Mike Severns, President and CEO, Mountain States Employers Council, Inc.
